For New Providence families
Comparing urgent care in New Providence? Here’s what to check.
There’s more than one walk-in clinic on Springfield Avenue. Before you pick one for a feverish child on a Saturday evening, a sports form due tomorrow or a cut that needs stitches, these are the questions worth asking — and how Sage Urgent Care answers them. We’re about five minutes from downtown New Providence, at 369 Springfield Avenue in Berkeley Heights.

Most walk-in clinics treat the same everyday problems. The differences show up in the details: when the doors are open, what you’ll pay, who is setting the medical standards and whether you’ll be sent somewhere else for an X-ray.
| Ask this | Sage Urgent Care’s answer |
|---|---|
| Is it open when you’ll actually need it? | Every day from 8 AM to 8 PM — Saturdays, Sundays and holidays included. Some clinics nearby close at 6 PM on weekends, which is exactly when pediatricians’ offices are closed too. |
| What will it cost without insurance? | Posted, not quoted: $150 for a typical visit (X-ray and tests add to the total), $75 for a sports or school physical and $50 for a flu shot. |
| Who owns it, and who sets the medical standards? | Two board-certified emergency medicine physicians, Dr. Jacob Silberstein and Dr. Vadim Fradlis, who practice here and train the team. Sage is independent and single-location — not a franchise. |
| Can they X-ray it on the spot? | Yes. Digital X-ray is in the building, so a suspected fracture is imaged and treated in the same visit. |
| Will they see my kids? | Yes — children 3 months and older. Any fever in a baby under 3 months belongs in a pediatric ER. |
| How long will I be there? | There’s usually little or no wait, and most visits take 30 minutes or less. You can also reserve a spot online and come in when it’s your turn. |
| Will they take my insurance? | Most major plans, including Aetna, Horizon, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and Oxford, Medicare and AmeriHealth. See the full insurance list. |
When other clinics are closed, we’re open

- Every holiday, 8 AM–8 PM — Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day, New Year’s Eve and Day. See our holiday hours.
- Weeknights until 8 PM — after work, after practice, after the train
If you’ve pulled into another clinic’s lot to find the doors locked, we’re about five minutes away on Springfield Avenue. Call (908) 363-0378 and we’ll tell you the current wait.

Seen somewhere else and not getting better?
Sometimes a sore throat, cough, rash or sprain doesn’t improve the way it was supposed to. You don’t need to start over or wait days for a follow-up slot. Bring whatever paperwork you were given — the diagnosis, prescriptions and any test results — and we’ll re-evaluate you the same day, with X-ray, rapid tests and an on-site lab available if something new needs checking.
Why New Providence families end up at Sage
- Weekend evenings are covered. Fevers don’t wait for Monday morning. We’re open until 8 PM every day, Saturdays and Sundays included.
- Physicals cost less. $75 covers a sports or school physical with the NJSIAA or school form completed before you leave — useful when New Providence High School or middle school paperwork is due tomorrow.
- Emergency-medicine judgment. The physicians who own Sage spent their careers in emergency departments. They set the clinical standards here, and they know when something needs more than urgent care.
- One stop instead of three. X-ray, an on-site lab, rapid strep (results in 5–10 minutes), flu and COVID tests (about 15 minutes), stitches, splinting and IV fluids all happen in the same visit.
- Free parking right outside. Our own lot — no meters and no garage.
