Walk-In X-Rays in Berkeley Heights, NJ

If you've fallen, twisted an ankle, jammed a finger, or you're worried about chest pain, you don't want to spend half a day in an emergency room or wait two weeks for an imaging center appointment. Sage Urgent Care has a digital X-ray suite right inside our Berkeley Heights clinic — so you can be evaluated, imaged, and get answers all in one visit.

Our providers are trained in musculoskeletal evaluation and chest imaging interpretation. We read your X-ray on site, walk you through what we see, and develop a treatment plan with you before you leave. For complex cases that need a radiologist's overread or specialist follow-up, we coordinate that for you.

When you might need a walk-in X-ray

  • Suspected fractures. Falls, sports injuries, sudden pain after impact, visible deformity, or inability to bear weight or use the affected limb.
  • Sprains and strains. Severe ankle, wrist, knee, or finger injuries where it's hard to tell if a bone is broken.
  • Chest pain or persistent cough. To evaluate for pneumonia, bronchitis, or rib injury after a fall or coughing fit.
  • Foreign bodies. Swallowed objects (in children), embedded glass or metal in soft tissue.
  • Joint pain that won't resolve. Persistent knee, shoulder, or back pain to rule out arthritis or structural issues.
  • Workplace injuries. We're set up to handle work-comp imaging and documentation in one visit.

What we image

Our digital system covers the most commonly needed urgent-care X-ray studies:

  • Hands, fingers, wrists, forearms, elbows, and shoulders
  • Feet, toes, ankles, lower legs, and knees
  • Chest (single and 2-view PA/lateral)
  • Ribs and abdomen
  • Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine
  • Pelvis and hips

For specialized imaging — CT scans, MRI, ultrasound, or contrast studies — we refer to nearby imaging partners and help schedule rapidly.

Yes. We image patients of all ages, including children. We use the lowest effective radiation dose and apply protective shielding to minimize exposure for pediatric patients. A parent or guardian must accompany any child under 18.

Results are read on site, the same visit. Our provider will review your images with you, explain what they show, and discuss next steps before you leave. We can also forward images and reports to your primary care provider or specialist on request.

Yes — with your permission, we can send your X-ray images and the radiology report to your primary care physician, orthopedist, or any other treating provider, usually within one business day.
