When something happens on a Saturday afternoon — a cut that needs stitches, a child's fever that will not come down, an ankle that turned the wrong way — the realistic options are a hospital emergency department in Morristown or Summit, or a walk-in clinic a few towns over.

Sage Urgent Care is a physician-led walk-in clinic in Berkeley Heights, open 8 AM to 8 PM every day of the year with X-ray and lab testing in the building. For the great majority of what sends a family out of the house unexpectedly, it is a shorter wait and a smaller bill than an emergency room, and you leave with the problem actually resolved rather than referred onward.

What to expect at your visit

• One trip, not two. X-ray, EKG, rapid strep, flu, COVID, RSV and mono testing, urinalysis, stitches, splinting, breathing treatments and IV fluids are all in the building. A suspected fracture is imaged and splinted here rather than sent on to a separate imaging appointment — which is the whole point of driving past a closer clinic that cannot do it.
• Paperwork finished before you go. Work and school notes, NJSIAA and school physical forms, vaccination records and visit summaries are completed at the visit, not mailed afterward.
• Walk in any day, 8 AM to 8 PM. No appointment, seven days a week, including weekends when your pediatrician or primary care office is closed.

Common services New Vernon patients use

Most New Vernon visits fall into a few clear categories. Same-visit sports physicals and school physicals get students cleared for the season. DOT physicals handle commercial driver certification. For illness, our most common visits cover strep throat, flu, sinus infections, UTIs, and ear infections — most diagnosed and treated in a single visit.
